Hi, I’m Becca and welcome to my blog.

Or should I say ‘ey up’. I’m a Yorkshire lass who moved down south in 2018 to study Journalism at the University of Portsmouth, before landing an editorial role at Scratch Magazine, the world’s leading nail magazine, in Kent.

I started this blog and portfolio in 2016 as a way to regularly do what I love: write. Back then, at the age of 16, a passion for beauty and fashion was emerging but of course, writing about my cat seemed like the best use of my space on the internet.

Now, I’m no Anna Wintour but I have a lot more experience, from this blog, my degree and the writing roles I’ve undertaken.

This blog has seen me go through a lot: the angst of teenage life, starting to form opinions about the world, experimenting with my appearance, and moving 300 miles away – and I’ve striven to be open about it all.

When done right, writing can be one of the most powerful forces of inspiration and empowerment. I hope my work has this effect on you.
